Taking each day as it comes.
Our journey has had so many twists and turns this month! We are learning day by day to get our service out into the big full world.
Our Instagram page is starting to get a core following with some members liking our posts and writing encouraging comments. We hope our inspiring quotes set others up for the day and prepare people to do more good in our world. One statement that we heard earlier this month was "Do not ask why there is so much darkness in our world, ask how can we shine a light in that darkness." We hope our Instagram posts remind people that there is a lot of good in our world. If you have us on Facebook and Instagram, you will know content is the same. We have 113 members on our Facebook page. It would be great to find new mentors to join. If you know any mentors, ask them to like our page so that they can get daily posts too. We want a community of mentors.
It seems we can not get away from annual plans. We have decided to add them again this month. We want to make it as easy as possible for any organisation, school or youth worker to have our resources. If this means paying yearly or monthly we don't want to put any barriers up. We enjoy listening to all feedback.
Our new resource is called 'My Hypocrisy.' MXLLS The first sheet helps the mentee understand what hypocrisy is and what it looks like. The resource uses an analogy of putting on a mask, to hide what is truly going on. There are many reasons why we might put on a mask. The resource gives a few examples. My hypocrisy speaks about 4 of the masks we can put on, or we may see in others. The mentor will be able to use this resource to start conversations with a young person. The second sheet supports the mentee on how they can build the courage to drop their masks. 'You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide' is the key quote in this resource. We hope this resource can be used to support young people. They need to know they can be themselves.
We have made a new page on our website titled 'Who We Are.' This just tells everyone a bit about ourselves. At the moment we only have our Founder on there, but look out for more writers added next month.
Once again, if are in school and know you need to develop the mentoring programs and support the well-being of their children, let them know Listen Up Mentor are here to help them on their journey.
Once again, Thanks for listening to us.
