Bye January, you have been a blast!
If you have not noticed by now, let me tell you we are in a new decade! 2020 is here, and we are all waiting to see what this new era has to offer.
In this short blog, I will be speaking about the following:
Going back to school
One in eight (12.8%) 5 to 19-year-olds had at least one mental disorder when assessed in 2017
(Mental Health of Children and Young People in England 2017 [PAS])
Going back to school
We often talk about our children and young people going back to school and how they could be apprehensive coming back or how they have to adjust to get up early for school. However, I feel that reminding everyone of that makes no difference. In some of my mentoring session, I speak about things we can and can't control.
For example, I can't control how my mentees are going to come back to school after the weekend. I can't control what type of holiday and break they have had.
So what can I control?
I can control them to feel more welcome as they get into school. I can control the attitude towards the children who I find it tough to work alongside.
You see, remembering small things like this will change your mindset. Remembering what you can do rather than what you can't do gives the power back to you. Some professionals will be looking forward to going back to work in schools; other professionals will be on the opposite spectrum. No matter where you are on the range, you can use what you can and can't control to make sure you are ready to face this a new month.
We know our resources work; we want to let other schools around the country know they work. So we are offering a free month for anyone who signs up to one of our plans online. Completely free of charge you will have access to all our resource for a whole month. If you know a school, who like free stuff get them to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that they can start using their free trial. If our resources do not support your children, you can cancel the plan before the month is up!
Try it before you buy it. We have worked so hard on making our resources accessible to anyone who wants to use them. When you deiced to use our free trial, you will see just how easy our resources are to use and how effective they are with pupils.
So if you are someone who works with children and you have a passion for seeing their well being thrive, help us, help you.
